Canoe Rock Eagle Lake during Saturday at the Rock

Novice and veteran canoers are invited to put a paddle in Rock Eagle Lake on Aug. 17 during this month’s Saturday at the Rock event.

“Canoeing is a great way to spend a Saturday with the family,” said Kate Croswell, a program specialist with Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton. “Rock Eagle Lake provides the opportunity to see ospreys, beaver, deer, and may other many other beautiful species of wildlife.”

The session costs $5 per person and will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Rock Eagle staff will accompany participants.

Advanced registration is required. For more information, contact Jake Martin at (706) 484-2881 or email him at jakemart@uga.edu.

Saturday at the Rock programs take place the third Saturday of each month, excluding December. A complete list of sessions can be found online at www.rockeagle4h.org/ee/community/SaturdayattheRock.html.
