Camp EcoAdventure set

Rock Eagle 4-H Center will present Camp EcoAdventure day camp April 5-9 for first through fifth graders.

Presented by the Rock Eagle Environmental Education Program, the natural-environment, hands-on camp is designed so that participants can attend one day or the whole week.

Each day includes 2 snacks, activities, a craft and much more. Each camp day will be centered around a theme:

April 5 - Green Team Planeteers - Campers will help with a canoeing clean up and create a beautiful “treasure” from trash.

April 6 - Animal Ambassadors – Campers will learn why birds have hollow bones and alligators have three eye-lids.

April 7 - Tree Trekkers - Campers will discover the importance of trees while hiking along Rock Eagle trails. They will also help plant a garden.

April 8 - Time Travelers - Campers will learn about the lives of Native Americans and Georgia pioneers, play pioneer and Native American games, learn how to use pioneer tools and make pottery.

April 9 - Water Watchers – Campers will take water samples in a Rock Eagle stream, learn about their local watershed and create a piece of art to enter in the 2010 National River of Words contest.

Camp fees are $37 per day or save 15 percent by attending the entire week for $172. Space is limited and the registration deadline is March 17. To register, call (706)484-2834 or send an e-mail to kellyjo@uga.edu.
