Landscape business owners workshop

A workshop for professional landscapers is set for Oct. 21 on the University of Georgia campus in Griffin, Ga.

The class will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the classroom at the UGA Research and Education Garden on Ellis Road.

The program will cover how to select, maintain and safely operate common landscape equipment. Participants will learn the proper method of job bidding. Software will be highlighted that allows business owners to more accurately estimate costs, therefore, building more profit into each job.

Current licensing laws, rules and regulations for the landscape industry will also be discussed. Pesticide credit in category 21 and 24 has been applied for.

UGA horticulturists Bob Westerfield and Bodie Pennisi will be the program speakers.

Preregistration is required. The workshop costs $50 and includes, refreshments and lunch. Part of the workshop will be held outdoors. Participants should dress accordingly.
