GNC

The Georgia Nutrition Committee for National Defense was formed in 1940 as a non- profit organization. The name was changed in 1950 to Georgia Nutrition Council (GNC). The purpose of the Georgia Nutrition Council is to bring together professionals from all fields of nutrition in order to broaden their perspectives of nutrition and unite their efforts in addressing nutrition problems in Georgia. It is composed of citizens, business leaders, and professionals concerned with nutrition.

Living Well

Georgia Peach Crumble

3 large sheets graham crackers

2 teaspoons sugar

1 tablespoon margarine, melted

1 (15-ounce) can sliced peaches or peach chunks, drained

11/2 cups plain nonfat yogurt

1. Place the graham crackers in a sealable plastic bag or between two pieces of foil. 2. Crumble the graham crackers using the unopened can of peaches or a rolling pin. 3. Combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar and margarine in a bowl and mix well. 4. Heat the peaches in a saucepan for 1 to 2 minutes or until warm. 5. Spoon 1/2 cup yogurt into each of three 1-cup dessert bowls. 6. Spoon the warm peaches over the yogurt. 7. Top with the graham cracker mixture and serve.
