- Landscape & Grounds
Management
The landscape and grounds management major focuses on environmentally sound methods to install and maintain landscapes, grounds, and interiorscapes. Employment opportunites for graduates are varied, ranging from wetlands reclamation to the management of sports facilities. - Horticulture
Horticulturists apply scientific principles to the propagation, culture, and production of turfgrasses, ornamental plants, fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Currently, two jobs are available for every trained horticulturist in the greater Atlanta area. - Turfgrass Management
In the state of Georgia, the turfgrass industry is valued at more than one billion dollars. Graduates of the turfgrass management program are qualified for lucrative careers in golf course, atheletic field, park, school, commercial grounds management. - Agricultural Engineering
This versatile four-year engineering program combines the principles of mechanical, electrical, civil, and chemical engineering to prepare men and women for professional careers in both agricultural and non-agricultural industries.

- Agricultural Education
The agricultural education major prepares students for teaching positions in secondary school programs or for related professional jobs in agriculture. Graduates qualify for certification by the Georgia Department of Education as teachers of agriculture.

- Water & Soil
Resources
The need for environmental scientists is increasing rapidly both in Georgia and around the world, with a proportional increase in employment, promotional, and professional opportunities for academically qualified personnel. - Environmental Chemistry
Environmental chemists must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to express ideas effectively to a nonscientific audience. This globally expanding field is ideally suited to students who speak more than one language. - Environmental Resource Science
This major prepares students for careers in urban agriculture that require a strong foundation in both basic and applied sciences, an understanding of how the sciences interconnect, and practical work experience in urban environmental and agricultural arenas. (exclusive to Griffin Campus) - Agriscience & Environmental
Systems
Students in agriscience and environmental systems work with University of Georgia scientists who are actively engaged in research related to the major. Students gain practical experience in course laboratories, research facilities, and in actual agribusiness settings. (exclusive to Tifton Campus) - Biological Engineering
Biological engineering is a four-year professional program which provided balanced exposure to basic sciences, humanities, social sciences, engineering sciences, biological sciences, and courses in engineerig design and analysis.

Economics & Management
Environmental economics and management trains students in the wise, efficient, and productive management of natural and environmental resources. An advanced degree may lead to a career at a college, university, or private research company. - Agricultural Economics
Agricultural economics applies economic principles to food and fiber production, natural resource management, community and regional economic development, environmental policy, and international trade. - Agribusiness
Learn decision-making skills for agribusiness management, finance, marketing, sales, processing, manufacturing, transportation, and international trade. The agribusiness degree provided career flexibility for students planning to work in private industry or government. - Agricultural Communication
Today's economic environment requires skilled communicators who understand scientific agriculture. Chemical and machinery companies, agribusiness, advertising agencies, and agriculture associations seek employees trained in writing, advertising, broadcasting, and public relations.

- Applied Biotechnology
This interdisciplinary major brings together the study of animals, food science, forestry, entomology, and plants. Students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to use biotechnology for the improvement of plants, animals, and microorganisms. - Food Science
The food processing industry in the United States is valued at about one hundred billion dollars — approximately four times the value of the next largest manufacturing industry. College graduates trained in food science and technology are in constant demand. - Biological Science
Biological science is a perfect fit if you are interested in biology, chemistry, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cellular biology, microbiology, and/or ecology. This major is particularly suited to those interested in entering medical or veterinary school.

- Avian Biology
Avian biology is an intensive science program focused on the unique biology of birds. Graduates can apply their background and laboratory training in the domestic bird industry, in avian and biomedical research, or toward a graduate or professional degree. - Poultry Science
Poultry science graduates enjoy excellent prospects for employment and career advancement in Georgia's largest agricultural industry. In-depth courses in biological and agricultural sciences are available for students moving on to graduate or professional school. - Animal Science
Animal science involves the selection, breeding, nutrition, growth, and management of livestock and horses. This major is highly recommended for students wishing to pursue the study of veterinary medicine. - Entomology
Entomology graduates will find employment opportunities in industry, consulting, and public research, state and federal departments of agriculture, and the U.S. Public Health Service. A graduate will also be prepared to enter a program leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. - Dairy Science
The modern dairy industry requires personnel trained in business, economics, and management as well as the traditional dairy science courses. This major is highly recommended for persons planning to enter a program of study in veterinary medicine. - Animal Health
The animal health major prepares students to enter veterinary school with three years of pre-veterinary study. Requirements for the degree are met after successful completion of first year of study in the College of Veterinary Medicine.
