Contribute Training Graduates - Athens!

The following personnel attended the Basic and/or Advanced Contribute training classes held at the Chicopee Complex in Athens (Clarke County) September 16, 17 and 18. Congratulations to our newest Content Managers!

Contribute Training in 2008

Creating Websites Using CAES Templates and Adobe Contribute

The CAES Web Team will be hosting "Creating Websites Using CAES Templates and Adobe Contribute" on the following dates and at the following locations:

    October 7, 2008 - Tift County
    • 9am - 12pm
    October 8, 2008 - Tift County
    • 9am - 12pm

This half-day class is specifically geared toward equipping the novice Web author with the knowledge and tools needed to publish content to the Web using templates. Through a series of hands-on activities, participants will learn how to create and publish their own Web sites. Relevant laws, policies and best practices will also be discussed. This class is open to any CAES department, program, unit, ie. wanting use the CAES template.

Advanced Workshop for CAES Web sites using Adobe Contribute

The CAES Web Team will be hosting "Advanced Workshop for CAES Web sites using Adobe Contribute" on the following dates and at the following locations:

    October 7, 2008 - Tift County
    • 1pm - 5pm
    October 8, 2008 - Tift County
    • 1pm - 5pm

Note: Non-county departments, programs or units must already have a site under CAES template development in order to attend the Advanced Workshop. If you need a new site or a site redesign, submit a Job Request through the Office of Communcations. Allow sufficient time for the development phase prior to training.

In a small group setting, this four-hour workshop is specifically geared toward those who are already trained in Contribute and would like help building their Web sites. For new Content Managers, registering for the basic and advanced classes on the same day is encouraged. Through a series of hands-on activities, participants will add content to their Web site pages and publish their own Web sites. Participants are expected to bring suitable content (text, images, files, etc.) to add to their specific sites during this class.

Note: To sign up for "Advanced Workshop for CAES Web sites using Adobe Contribute," you must have already attended the initial "Creating Web sites Using CAES Templates and Adobe Contribute" class.

Contribute Training in 2009

The following Contribute trainings will be held during 2009. Each class will have a maximum of 8 trainees. Registration will begin October 1, 2008, and is open to any CAES employee responsible for maintaining an official CAES templated Web site. The registration fee per session is $15.

GoTo Meeting Training Session

Adobe Contribute Training using GoToMeeting

The CAES Web Support Desk is offering Adobe Contribute on-line training using g2mlogo to help you get your Web site live. GoToMeeting is a Web conferencing tool that allows you to meet online with a member of the Web Team using only an internet browser.

This is a scheduled 1 to 2 hour training session specifically geared toward the individual who has attended the Basic and/or Advanced Contribute training sessions and desires guidance and assistance with building their Web site. If you are interested in participating in an on-line training session, please send the following information to contrib@uga.edu:

  • name, title, and program area
  • county/district or department
  • email address
  • telephone number
  • provide a date/time you’d would be available

Tools required:

  • Adobe Contribute CS3 version 4.1*
  • Contribute access with an assigned userid
  • Internet Browser software (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox)

*If currently using a previous version of Contribute, please contact us at contrib@uga.edu for upgrade details.

If so, please contact Contribute support to upgrade to the newer version Adobe Contribute 4.1.
