Web Team: Contribute Resource Guide
Contribute Overview
What is Adobe Contribute?
The Web-editing program Adobe Contribute allows users to create, edit and publish Web pages with little previous experience. Using Contribute's Word-like interface, users can add content to their pages, edit images, and provide links to important information — all while maintaining a consistent style and structure.
Contribute also allows the Web Team to distribute materials and control user access to certain files and publishing functions. In this manner, Contribute allows the Web Team to aid users in maintaining logical, helpful Web pages that comply with established standards, such as copyright law and accessibility options.

Why use Contribute?
Contribute supports the college site's mission: to strengthen the college's Web presence and bring focus to the user experience. In addition to providing images, help resources, and other materials to users, the Web Team uses Contribute to provide templates. With these templates, users can easily establish a Web site that is:
- Standards-compliant — templates ensure that content is accessible to all users, regardless of ability or technology, and follows industry standards for Web sites.
- Consistent with entire college site — templates reflect the unified look and structure of the college Web site; features such as global navigation and search engines improve usability.
- Focused on content — site templates handed off to client; able to update Web site at will; and technical issues reside with Web Team.
