Remove Contribute Connections

After the April 2007 maintenance period, all Contribute users must complete this task.

Steps to remove Contribute connection(s)

After you view the tutorial, follow the steps below to remove the Contribute connections on your computer. These are identical to the steps in the interactive tutorial.

1. Select the CAES UGA Contribute connection icon on your desktop.
   
2. The Connection Failure window opens.
   Choose "Close".
3. The Contribute window opens.
   Choose "OK".
4. The Contribute Start Page opens. This will show your previous connections and indicate that you are not connected.
   Choose "Edit" from the top menu.
   Choose "My Connections...".
5. The My Connections window opens.
   Choose the Publishing Server connection.
   Choose "Remove".
6. The Contribute warning window opens.
   Choose "Yes".
7. The My Connections screen now has no connections listed.
   Choose "Close".
8. The Contribute Start Page now has no connections listed.
9. Delete the old key from your desktop.
   Note: this is a purple icon with a silver key, titled "CAES UGA Contribute".
10. Proceed to Create a New Connection

Troubleshooting

• I don't see the start page after I open Contribute. What do I do?
  Go to the Home Pages icon in the tool bar (the little house) and select "Contribute Start Page". This will take you to the original Contribute home page. Proceed with Step 4 in the directions above.
