Web Team: Resources: Summary of Work
Stages of Implementation
The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Web Team is currently redesigning the college's Web presence. This redesign will affect all online aspects of the college.
Implementation will occur in three major stages.*
Stage 1
Apply new design to home page; portal sections including Alumni & Friends, Students and Visitors; upper level main sections including About CAES, Academics, Extension, Research, Publications and Topics A-Z; Departmental and County entry pages; and Employee Intranet.
UPDATE:
The CAES Web pages referenced in Stage 1 have been updated with the new design and were released on Wednesday, August 10, 2005.

Stage 2
Apply new design to campus sites, departmental sites and individual county sites.
Departments should submit a job request through the Office of Communications to begin the process of adopting the new CAES "look." The Web team will assist each department with customizing templates and updating their Web pages. Trainings will be coordinated with departmental site managers.
Training Title
Training Session Descriptions
Basic: This half-day class is specifically geared toward equipping the novice Web author with the knowledge and tools needed to publish content to the Web using templates. Through a series of hands-on activities, participants will learn how to create and publish their own Web sites. Relevant laws, policies and best practices will also be discussed.
Advanced: This workshop is specifically geared toward those who are already trained in Contribute and desire guidance and assistance with building their Web sites in a small group setting. Through a series of hands-on activities, participants will add content to their Web site pages and publish their own Web sites. Participants are expected to bring suitable content (text, images, files, etc.) to add to their specific sites during this class.

Stage 3
Apply new design to support unit pages, special interest sites and all other CAES Web pages and documents.
NOTE: This timeline does not include server administration issues, application development and/or other services as provided by OIT. In addition, this timeline does not include the creation of new content.
