Lupin

Lupin is a cross-seasonal legume. It can be planted either in September or early October for a winter crop or in early April for a summer crop. Lupins' most attractive feature is it's ability to fix nitrogen, at an average of 350 lbs of nitrogen per acre; followed by its production of surface residue, which can provide weed control, water conservation and promotes organic matter buildup. Lupins also contain alkaloids which may aid in disease, insect and nematode control. Lupins do not tolerate waterlogged ground.
