Office of Diversity Relations
Director's Welcome
Welcome to the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Office of Diversity Relations web page. As Interim Director of the Office of Diversity Relations, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the very best people engaged in the land grant mission. On this site, we have compiled information and links to information about diversity in our college and UGA, our very successful Young Scholars Program, the MANRRS program, funding opportunities, recruitment and retention strategies, and professional development opportunities for faculty, staff and students.
Continued achievement of our CAES mission to seek, verify and apply knowledge related to agriculture and the environment, and to disseminate this knowledge through student education and public outreach programs depends on our commitment to diversity. While our individual ideas on how and why to strive for diversity are disparate, the CAES is committed to a culture of inclusion. We have excellent programs for people of all backgrounds. Enjoy this view of the UGA CAES.

A Message from the Dean
Excellence in our programs hinges on our responsiveness to the mission of diversity and inclusion. The CAES must be increasingly flexible to achieve the land grant mission. This requires a renewed commitment to increasing our diversity.
We are striving for a cultural transformation of the college. I envision a CAES that understands the vital role of diversity, solid indices of progress towards our diversity goals, and shared commitment to those goals. Our success in diversification and inclusion hinges on a shared ownership, commitment that is integral to every unit, every person, and every action. Our goal is only achievable with leadership at all levels in the college.
We have a strong core of leaders in our faculty, staff and students. We have strong partnerships in the state, nationally and internationally. The Dean’s commitment to diversity includes the commitment that the composition of the CAES will reflect our stakeholders, our programs reflect a commitment to diversity, and our policies promote equity, achievement and success of everyone in the CAES community.
