Ways to Celebrate Diversity
- Enroll in a Spanish class. Free classes are offered at the Clarke County Library and Goodwill Career Center- Spanish classes.
- Join the UGA Office of Institutional Diversity listserve to keep yourself informed on diversity activities and lectures. You can join by e-mailing Susan Herda at sherda@uga.edu
- Attend a Safe Space workshop and then display a Safe Space decal in your work place or living space.
- Become involved with the Global Friends Peer Mentor Program. Contact UGA International Student Life at (706) 542-5867 for more information.
- Volunteer in "Follow Me", a shadow day in which students from local area high schools visit the University of Georgia campus for a full school day. Contact Students for Latino Empowerment at (706) 542-5867 for more information.
- Read a book by Tim Wise
- Read a book by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, renowned Colombian writer
- Learn about Native American history
- Enjoy the Black Theatrical Ensemble
- Attend the International Student Life Coffee Hour every Friday during Fall and Spring from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Hall.
