A Monthly Tip Sheet on
Effective Communication

Georgia FACES

New and improved news delivery system

News editor Stephanie Schupska just returned from the annual Georgia Press Association meeting. There she met with newspaper editors and publishers from across the state and promoted the college's news service and Web site delivery system, Georgia FACES. The new Web site is a joint effort between the Office of Communications and the Office of Information Technology. News editor April Sorrow has led the efforts on the OC side working closely with College Web Team members Robin Pratt and Ben Whetstone. The new site should make its debut this summer. Georgia FACES currently has more than 1,400 subscribers, 800 of which are local, state and national media outlets.

Video production

DVD will help pecan producers profits

CAES news editor Brad Haire is producing a DVD this summer with UGA Extension pecan specialist Lenny Wells. The video will show pecan producers a better way to manage their crops for consistent profits each year. In 2007, Brad produced a similar DVD on replacements for methyl bromide with CAES researchers David Langston, Terry Kelley and Stanley Culpepper. If your program has grant funds to support video production, contact Brad at bhaire@uga.edu.
