Feed the Future Innovation Labs
We join other Feed the Future Innovation Labs at top U.S. universities and developing country research institutions to tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges in agriculture and food safety.
Climate-Resilient Sorghum Innovation Lab
The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Climate-Resilient Sorghum is an international team led by the University of Georgia's Plant Genome Mapping Laboratory. They are working toward sustainable intensification of sorghum production through a $4.98 million grant recently funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Peanut Innovation Lab
The Feed the Future Peanut Innovation Lab was awarded to UGA in January 2018, continuing a long relationship between the U.S. Agency for International Development and UGA's College of Agriculture to improve food security through peanuts. The Peanut Innovation Lab is one of several Feed the Future Innovation Labs supported by USAID and hosted at top U.S. universities. While not physical laboratories as the name might imply, the Innovation Labs are networks of researchers in the United States and abroad working together to improve food security and reduce poverty in key countries of the Feed the Future initiative.
