CAES ranked #3 in U.S.
The University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) is ranked third on the 2020 list of Best Colleges for Agricultural Sciences in the U.S. by rankings platform Niche.
"Ike" Oguadinma, a graduate student on the University of Georgia Griffin campus, is one of 15 students who received the award at the SQF International Conference held last October in San Antonio, Texas. Each student received a $3,000 scholarship and an all-expense-paid trip to attend the conference with more than 850 food safety professionals. CAES News

University of Georgia food science graduate student Ikechukwu “Ike” Oguadinma, 27, has been awarded the Food Safety Auditing Scholarship from the Food Marketing Institute Foundation in partnership with the Safe Quality Food Institute.
Ivery Clifton, a native Georgian, was the first African American to serve at the dean level at UGA, holding the position of interim dean and coordinator from 1994 to 1995 in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Ivery Dwight Clifton, a former senior administrator and professor emeritus of agricultural economics at the University of Georgia, died Jan. 1, 2020. He was 76.

UGArden History
There is a lot more growing at UGArden — the University of Georgia’s student-run community farm — than just vegetables. Student involvement, community outreach and adoption of sustainable practices are all products of the work of students and staff at the garden.

While some young men collect baseball cards or video games, University of Georgia senior Vince Hix has a slightly more exotic hobby.

While classrooms offer important skills and opportunities, not all lessons fit within four walls. Real-world experiences can be more valuable to a student's education than hours spent in lecture halls. 
Bethany Harris' UGA degrees exposed her to working with pollinators and butterflies, so her job as assistant director of education at Callaway Gardens is a perfect fit. “In addition to the butterfly center, we have an outdoor butterfly garden and my research at UGA centered around native pollinators and butterflies," she said. Triple Dawg
Bethany Harris has found the perfect job using her entomology and horticulture education from the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. As assistant director of education at Callaway Gardens, Harris truly works out in the field, overseeing the butterfly center and educational gardens, managing over 200 volunteers, and teaching workshops for the public.
