Walk Georgia

Walk Georgia is a web-based program offered at no cost to all Georgians.  Participants register for Walk Georgia through the website, www.WalkGeorgia.org and track their physical activity data online. When you register for this free Chatham County Extension program you will also gain access to a weekly wellness newsletter with fast and nutritious recipes to make healthy lifestyle choices. 

Healthy Relationship & Marriage Education Training

This training will prepare professionals to understand and teach skills that can empower individuals to form and maintain healthy couple and co-parenting relationships.

Elevate- Taking your Relationship to the Next Level- 1-day Facilitator Training

During this 1-day training, participants will receive tools and learn strategies to empower individuals with skills that can strengthen couple and family relationships. This 8- hour, hands on curriculum engages couples in learning and parcticing the seven core principles and skills reserach has identified as essential to maintaining healthy and stable relationships.

4-H Chatham County AmeriCorps State Member  

COMMUNITY SERVICE SPECIALIST  

The AmeriCorps State program is a federally-funded grant providing U.S. citizens with the opportunity to serve in their own county. The Georgia 4-H AmeriCorps State Member works with the County Extension Agent in planning, developing, and delivering 4-H positive youth development programming including in-school and after school club meetings, camp, and other events that align with the AmeriCorps program objectives.

The AmeriCorps member performs direct-service oriented duties (planning, implementation, and teaching) to assist the County Extension Professional in the day-to-day conduct of programs. In addition, the AmeriCorps member will assist with volunteer management; grant reporting, and transportation of youth. The AmeriCorps member will also assist the AmeriCorps State Program Coordinator in collecting required impact data by administering surveys to youth participants.

Work includes direct service in the community and involves the tasks necessary in planning, developing and directing educational programs directed at youth. This employee must exhibit qualities of independent judgment and a passion for service. Work is performed under general supervision of the County Extension Professional and AmeriCorps Program Director and Coordinator.  

Driving, light lifting, occasional work outdoors in adverse climate   Limited term position: Monday - Friday 8am-5 pm; some nights/weekend as required/needed.
