Walk Georgia

Walk Georgia is a web-based program offered at no cost to all Georgians.  Participants register for Walk Georgia through the website, and track their physical activity data online. When you register for this free Chatham County Extension program you will also gain access to a weekly wellness newsletter with fast and nutritious recipes to make healthy lifestyle choices. 

Healthy Relationship & Marriage Education Training

This training will prepare professionals to understand and teach skills that can empower individuals to form and maintain healthy couple and co-parenting relationships.

Elevate- Taking your Relationship to the Next Level- 1-day Facilitator Training

During this 1-day training, participants will receive tools and learn strategies to empower individuals with skills that can strengthen couple and family relationships. This 8- hour, hands on curriculum engages couples in learning and parcticing the seven core principles and skills reserach has identified as essential to maintaining healthy and stable relationships.

So Easy to Use Your Pressure Canner

UGA Extension- Chatham County invites you to learn how to preserve vegetables using the Pressure Canner. The “Pressure Canning Food Preservation Hands-On Workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to pressure can a jar of vegetables to take home, receive publications and recipes.

Starting a New Food Business-Griffin, GA. - October 6-7, 2015

This workshop will address many of the concerns of
the food entrepreneur just getting started. The course will include presentations by Extension
faculty from the UGA Department of Food Science & Technology in Athens, the Food Product Innovation and Commercialization (FoodPIC) Center in Griffin,
representatives from the Georgia Department of Agriculture and FDA, and others. Topics of concern to the food product entrepreneur, may include:
• Food safety and sanitation
• Getting your label reviewed
• Meeting GDA and FDA regulations
• Record keeping and product traceback
• Choosing a co-packer or shared kitchen
The program will conclude with product show & tell by attendees, and a panel discussion with experts and faculty answering your questions about the challenges
in starting, running, and growing a food business in Georgia.

Deadline to register is September 10, 2015- Registration limited to 40 participants
