Join 4-H Club!!
4-H is a community of young people across the globe who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills! 4-H is about having FUN, learning, exploring, and discovering. In this club young people make new friends, develop new skills, become leaders, and help shape their communities! 4-H is open to anyone ages 9-19!
Come join us for meetings every 3rd Friday at the Monthly Jr/Sr Meetings @ Savannah Mall in the Community meeting room! Meetings starting October 17th will be focused on
7th-12th graders who want to participate!
Skidaway Marine Science Day
Skidaway Island, Savannah
Skidaway Marine Science Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014. The campus-wide open house will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on the campus of the UGA Skidaway Institute of Oceanography on the north end of Skidaway Island. The UGA Aquarium, operated by UGA Marine Extension, will be open to visitors with no admission fee. Highlights for the day will include the public debut of Rider the loggerhead sea turtle, a new gray whale exhibit and an expanded touch-tank activity. The aquarium education staff will also offer visitors a full afternoon of activities including science talks, a reptile show, touch tanks and behind-the-scene tours of the aquarium.
This event is presented by the University of Georgia's Skidaway Institute of Oceanography, the University of Georgia's Marine Education Center and Aquarium, the University of Georgia's Shellfish Research Laboratory, and Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary.
