Middle Georgia Goat Seminar Nov. 11

The Middle Georgia Goat Producers and Taylor County Livestock Auction will sponsor a goat seminar and meeting Nov. 11. The event will be at the TCLA facility just off Highway 128, 2.5 miles south of Reynolds, Ga.

Seyedmehdi Mobini, from Fort Valley State University, will talk about worm identification. Mobini will show procedures for counting eggs and products to use for worming goats.

Guy Sirois of TCLA will discuss goat marketing issues, strategies and problems. Various ethnic groups look for different sizes and ages of meat goats at different times during the year. Producers need to know as much as they can on these topics.

Barbecue Lunch

The seminar is free. Goat or pork barbecue plates will be available for lunch for $5 per plate.

TCLA will sponsor a special goat sale in the afternoon. The sale facility will open at 8 a.m. For more information, contact Guy Sirois at (706) 575-2492. Or call Bill Haas at (912) 987-1789 after 7 p.m., or email fancybrits@msn.com.
