Background

Allen Stripling is the longest serving member of the PMIL Management Entity team. Beginning work with the former PCRSP project in April of 2010, he has continued working as the current PMIL project was developed with new directives. Allen brings over a decade of business management and accounting experience to PMIL, as well as serving as a financial historian for the project.

What is your area of expertise and can you tell us how it brought you to PMIL?

My area of expertise is accounting. I was working for a small private certificate school in Decatur, and enjoyed the higher education atmosphere. I thought that this was something I would like to do on a larger scale and then this position became available. I was seeking a position that included financial responsibility as well as the ability to travel worldwide.

What is your job here at PMIL?

As the business manager, I am responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of each project and making sure all activities are within the limits of USAID requirements. I coordinate accounting, budgeting, auditing and other financial related functions for the program. I’m also responsible for other administrative issues such as entering PMIL’s student and visiting scientist data into TraiNet.

What goals do you have for your work here?

My goal here is to have a successful program and to achieve the desired outcome of each project. What I would like to see is that our research is changing lives, not only of Feed the Future recipients and countries, but for all that is involved in order to help others.
