Our office prepares Extension faculty and staff to effectively serve various audiences by providing training, professional development, and cultivating future leaders. We are housed under the Associate Dean for Extension and led by Mike Martin, Director of County Operations. Our purpose is to facilitate scholarly work through program development, professional development and leadership training, and evaluation efforts. We manage the data collection and reporting process to demonstrate the impact of Extension work in Georgia and beyond.
Program development is an ongoing, systemic approach that Extension follows to plan and execute quality educational programs. This process can be used at the individual, community, or statewide level. In Georgia, our program development model is grounded in the county delivery system, which is centered around localized needs assessment, priority setting, and program action using the logic model and evaluation metrics.
