Lodging In Griffin

From Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport

Upon exiting Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (South Terminal), head towards the South Terminal Parkway. Bear right at Airport Boulevard. Turn right at Riverdale Road and head toward Rental Car Return. Turn right onto the I-285 entry ramp (loop into I-285); take the I-285 East ramp towards Macon and continue on I-285 East (be careful to stay left near I-85 south exit). Take the I-75 exit 58 to Atlanta/Macon/Tampa. Get in the right lane and continue south on I-75 to Macon/Tampa.

Take exit 235 to "Griffin (US-19)/Jonesboro (US-41)". Continue south on US-19/US-41/Tara Boulevard for a total of 25+ miles to Griffin.

After going through many stop lights (11+ in Jonesboro, 3+ at Wal-Mart in LoveJoy) you will pass Atlanta Motor Speedway on your right. You are approx 10 miles from downtown Griffin.

After you cross into Spalding County you will pass through 3 stoplights (School Road, Birdie Road, Vineyard Road) before turing left at McIntosh Road. 'McIntosh Road to the left/Ga-92 to the right' intersection is noted as passing an Arby's and a car wash on the left; a shopping mall (BigLots and Belk's) and a McDonald's, on the right. Get into the left
lane; turn left at this stoplight onto McIntosh Road.

On McIntosh Road, stay in the left lane, continue to the next stoplight and go across onto Experiment Street. This intersection is more of an "X."

Travel about .6 mile on Experiment Street to a three-way stoplight. Continue straight and cross railroad tracks (now paved over, but they can be seen on either side of the road). Pass first gated entrance to campus, continue straight on Experiment Street to the main entrance on the right.

Upon entering the campus, the Stuckey Building is on the right, the Flynt Building is on the left. There is a campus map in front of the Stuckey Building.

From Athens

Take U.S. 78 west toward Atlanta. At Monroe, take the exit for Ga. 138 and head southwest toward Conyers.

At Conyers, cross over I-20 and continue through about four stoplights. Head straight onto Ga. 20 toward McDonough. Do not turn right onto Ga. 138.

Continue on Ga. 20 to Oak Hill and a four-way stop. Oak Hill Baptist Church is across the intersection on the right. Turn right and continue on Ga. 20.

Merge with Ga. 155 upon entering McDonough. Continue south on Ga. 155, and cross Interstate 75. Continue south on Ga. 155 into Spalding County.

You will reach a four-way stop at a Phillips gas station. A Kangaroo (Citgo) gas station will be across the street. Turn right and stay on Ga. 155. Continue on Ga. 155 into Griffin city limits.

At the first stop sign, turn left onto North Hill Street. Cross railroad tracks (Welcome Center will be on your right) and turn right onto Broad Street.

On Broad Street, immediately after the second traffic light veer to the right onto Experiment Street.

Continue on Experiment Street for approximately 1.5 miles and the Griffin Campus will be on your left.

Upon entering the campus, the Stuckey Building is on your right and the Flynt Building is on your left.

From Athens - 2nd route

Take U.S. 441 south toward Madison. Continue until coming to Interstate 20. Exit onto I-20 west (towards Atlanta) and go approximately one mile to the next exit.

At this exit, get on Ga. 83 towards Shady Dale and Monticello.

Once in Monticello, turn onto Ga. 16 west towards Jackson and Griffin.

In Jackson, continue on Ga. 16 towards Griffin.

After crossing over Interstate 75, there is approximately 10 miles into the Griffin city limits.

Once in the city limits of Griffin, Ga. 16 will also be named Taylor Street. Continue on Taylor Street approximately 2 miles. After passing a Chick-fil-A on your left and then a Sonic on your left, be in the right lane to veer off onto the North Expressway – this is US 19/41 Business.

After going right, there will be Voice to the Nation church on your right. Stay in right lane for approximately one half mile.

At the second traffic light, you will turn right onto Ellis Road and the Griffin Campus will be on your left.

The first entrance to the campus on your left will be Cowart Street. This entrance will be close to the Melton Building and the Redding Building.

The second entrance to the campus on your left will be Higgins Road. This entrance will be close to the Student Learning Center, Flynt Building and the Stuckey Conference Center.

From Macon

Take I-75 north toward Atlanta. Take the exit for Griffin and Jackson (Ga. 16, Exit 205). Go west for about 10 miles. Proceed straight into downtown Griffin.

The third main stoplight in Griffin is the intersection of Highway 16 (Taylor Street) and Hill Street. First Baptist Church is on the left corner. Continue for two more stoplights to 10th Street. A bank will be on the right side; Chevron and Amoco gas stations are across the intersection.

Turn right onto 10th Street and continue to the second stoplight (Broad Street). Turn left onto Broad Street and immediately veer right onto Experiment Street.

Continue on Experiment Street approximately 2 miles to the Griffin Campus/Georgia Experiment Station. After passing an electrical substation and the Griffin Campus turf plots on your left, you will reach the main entrance to the Griffin Campus; turn left into the campus.

Upon entering the campus, the Stuckey Building is on the right. the Flynt Building is on the left.

From Auburn, AL or Columbus, GA area

Take I-85 north toward Atlanta. Take the exit for Ga. 16 near Newnan. It will be Exit 41 and should be listed as Newnan/Griffin.

Proceed east on Ga. 16 for about 34 miles through Sharpsburg, Senoia and Zetella.

Once you reach Griffin, you will cross U.S. 19/41. Continue on Ga. 16 through two stoplights (Lowe's on right, Home Depot on your left). At the third stoplight, turn left onto Business 19/41. Wendy's will be on the left corner.

Proceed approximately 1 mile to the second stoplight and turn right onto Ellis Road.

Go approximately .5 mile and turn left into the south entrance of the Griffin Campus/GA Experiment Station.

Proceed past the turf plots and two buildings, and turn at the first paved right. The Stuckey Building is on the left, the Flynt Building is on the right.
