These special events showcase outstanding faculty contributions, foster community and industry collaboration, and spotlight the college's impact on a global scale. Our annual Signature Events include: Alumni Awards, Ag Dawg Kickoff, Flavor of Georgia, D.W. Brooks Lecture and Award, and Ag Forecast.

The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) believes partnerships between the university and industry are vital to our mission. Through our Signature Events Sponsorship Program, we offer tailored engagement opportunities based on your organization's interests and needs. Through this collaboration, industry partners provide financial support that benefits students, researchers and communities around the world.

NOTE: All Signature Lectures are free and open to the public. Requests for accommodations should be made as soon as possible but at least seven days prior to the scheduled lecture.

8:00AM - 4:00PM 2025 Corn Short Course (RESCHEDULED FROM JAN 21) UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center, Tifton, GA
This one-day course is an introduction to good agricultural practices. Small-scale fruit and vegetable growers will learn skills necessary to draft a food safety plan, identify safety concerns, and build knowledge on certifications and resources.This event takes place on February 20th from 9am-3pm.Location: 325 Old Jesup Road, Brunswick, GA 31525Registration closes on February 17th at 4pm EST.Lunch is included. Beverages and breakfast are not included.Please email efs@uga.edu with any food allergens or dietary restrictions after registering.We request participants bring a laptop or tablet that has a USB port.For cancellations, please email efs@uga.edu.Cancellation PolicyCancellations made a week or less before the event will not be refunded. Cancellations made prior to a week before the workshop will be issued a full refund. All workshops and courses are subject to cancellation by Food Science and Technology Extension. In this case, full refunds will be issued to all who have paid registration fees. Neither The University of Georgia nor Food Science and Technology Extension are required to reimburse any expenses made by the attendee prior to cancellation except for the registration fee.

9:00AM - 3:00PM Introduction to Farm Food Safety, Glynn County
This inaugural event will feature research-backed insights from the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences as well as leaders of industry from “field to table” to share what factors have been impacting food prices and inflation. Dr. Michael Adjemian from the Agricultural & Applied Economics department at CAES will open the program with a brief summary of recent research and data, highlighting factors that have driven the rise in food prices over the past several years. Afterwards, panelist from various industries from producers to suppliers to retailers will share insights on the input costs and challenges affecting Georgians.
