The Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame

Milton P. Jarnagin

  • Born: September 17, 1881, Farmville, Virginia
  • Died: August 4, 1956
  • Honored: November 4, 1972

Occupation: Head of the Animal Husbandry Department of the Agricultural College of the University of Georgia; consultant to the Board of Regents.

Accomplishments: Dr. Jarnagin formed the Saddle and Sirloin Club for students in the Agricultural College in 1921 and started the "Little International Livestock Show." He was best known as a humorist and promoter of animal science. He was an accomplished public relations practitioner which enhanced his leadership abilities and led to his recognition as one of the nation's most accomplished livestock educators.
