Regenerative Bioscience Open House

Open House Event for the Regenerative Bioscience Program

Did you know that 6 out of every 10 American adults is living with at least one chronic illness, and that treating these conditions drives nearly 90% of the nation’s $4 trillion in annual healthcare spending? Chronic illnesses affect millions of families every day!

The Regenerative Bioscience Center (RBC) and NSF Engineering Research Center for Cell Manufacturing Technologies(CMaT) invite high school/technical college students and science teachers to explore how we are tackling these challenges. The Regenerative Bioscience (RBIO) Open House at the University of Georgia is a free, hands-on event designed to immerse guests in our ongoing research in areas including stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), glioblastoma (GBM), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and more.

Through interactive laboratory demonstrations and tours, live research exhibits, and conversations with RBIO scientists and students, you will discover how regenerative bioscience uses stem cells, gene therapies, and biomaterials to repair damaged cells and tissues- and how the RBIO major equips undergraduates with the skills to join this work.

Guests will enjoy a catered lunch, meet RBIO students and researchers, learn about the curriculum, career pathways, and opportunities offered through the RBIO major, and see firsthand how regenerative medicine is transforming healthcare and inspiring the next generation of innovators.
