AgriQuest Youth Summer Camp

The UGA CAES AgriQuest Youth Summer Camp (AgriQuest) is a seven-day residential program hosted on the University of Georgia’s Athens campus for rising high school sophomores and juniors (current 9th and 10th graders). This immersive experience engages students in agriculture and environmental sciences through interactive workshops, hands-on labs, dynamic lectures, and experiential learning activities. AgriQuest is designed to inspire a passion for sustainability and science while introducing participants to the diverse fields and career opportunities within the agricultural industry.

AgriQuest will be held Sunday, June 7 – Saturday, June 13, 2026

 

Application Information

The AgriQuest application will be open from November 3, 2025, until January 23, 2026.

All AgriQuest applicants will be notified of decisions via email by Friday, February 6, 2026.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Completion of freshman or sophomore year in high school.
  • Sincere interest in scientific exploration in agricultural, food, and environmental science; math and technology.
  • Submit a completed application that includes an essay and a teacher’s recommendation form.

How to Apply:

AgriQuest Application

  1. Using the AgriQuest Application Form, upload your unofficial high school transcript.
  2. Respond to two short essay prompts.
    • Why do you want to attend the AgriQuest Youth Summer Camp, and what do you hope to learn from this experience?
    • In 500 words or fewer, describe your background, your interest in this program, what you hope to gain from participating, and why you believe you would be a strong candidate.
  3. Have one to two teachers or counselors complete the AgriQuest Recommendation Form.
    • Recommenders may submit their recommendation form at any time during the application period; they do not need to wait for the student to complete the online application.
    • This recommendation form does NOT require the submission of a letter or uploading a letter to our form.

Camp Fees

Camp Fees are $300 and include the following items:

  • On campus housing
  • All meals, snacks and drinks while at camp
  • Program instruction, materials and equipment
  • Transportation to and from off-campus field-trip sites
  • Recreational activities

Cancellation

All cancellation requests must be submitted via email. Please send your request to agriquest@uga.edu.

Cancellation Procedure:

  1. Cancellation request received at least 6 weeks prior to the start date of the program: Full refund, less $50.
  2. Cancellation request received less than 6 weeks but at least 3 weeks prior to the program start date: Refund of 50%.
  3. Cancellation request received less than 3 weeks prior to the program start date or “no show”: No refund.

Note: Refunds will be issued to the individual/organization who made the original payment.

 

Scholarships

Full scholarships are available for accepted students who demonstrate financial need. After acceptance, students may request a scholarship application.
